You Can Upgrade On The Cheap Using Paint
After you’ve lived in a house for a while, it’s easy to be house blind — blind to the flaws and everyday wear and tear. So, look at your kitchen carefully. Is there food splatter all over the woodwork? Stencils that you sponged onto the walls in the ’80s? It’s time for updating, and the walls are a great place to start. A new splash of paint can go a long way to create a refreshing, warm, new look.
One of the top three features buyers look for in a home is fresh paint. Paint the walls if they:
Are dull or old looking are painted in outdated colours
Are covered with wallpaper
Have a wallpaper border or stencilling
If your kitchen leads into a family room or great room, don’t separate the multifunction room by using different paint colours. Using the same base colour on the main walls makes both the kitchen and adjoining room look more spacious.
